Massive walls surround the whitewashed houses and narrow alleys of Eivissa (Ibiza Town) & Dalt Vila. From the bastions of Castell d'Eivissa, you look out over the sea towards Formentera. At the foot of the walls are the lively bars of La Marina and the market of the old fishing quarter. The Necròpolis des Molins, with thousands of underground tombs, shows the history of the island. Around the harbour, there is a pleasant hustle and bustle, and illuminated ships stand out against the dark city walls.

Cala Tarida and Cala Vedella are two sandy bays on the west coast, both with restaurants on the rocks. You can stay overnight at the Cala Bassa campsite a little further north, or in the Cala Vedella car park off-season. The sunset here is the reason to stay.

Sant Antoni de Portmany is the island's second city, with the sunset bars of Café del Mar on the bay. Cala Bassa Campsite is located on the bay west of the city under pine trees, within walking distance of Cala Bassa beach.

Portinatx is a seaside resort in the far north with three beaches and a lighthouse at the end of a walking path. Cala d'en Serra, fifteen minutes away, is a small bay with an abandoned hotel skeleton and clear water. The parking near the village is the place to stay; the north is the quietest part of the island.

Es Canar is a resort on the east coast of Ibiza, ten kilometres north of Santa Eulària, with a sandy beach in a sheltered bay and two campsites under the pine trees: Cala Nova and La Playa. On Wednesdays, Punta Arabí hosts the island's largest hippie market, with hundreds of stalls since 1973. Coastal paths lead north to Cala Nova and Cala Llenya, and in summer boats sail from the harbour to Santa Eulària and Formentera.
