Denmark looks like the easiest motorhome country in Scandinavia, and it is, until you notice how much needs arranging. Where you may park and where you may not, what Storebælt costs with a motorhome, which cities have a low-emission zone, and when the ferry to Ærø sails. This guide works it out day by day — and the 2027 edition is free for you later.

Why this guide instead of more blogs?
Blogs tell you where to go. This book sorts out what each day actually looks like.

This is how detailed each day is

Skagen
At Grenen you see why Skagen is such a special place. On the narrow sandy spit the Skagerrak and the Kattegat meet, and you can visibly watch the waves come at each other from two directions. You can walk out to the tip or take the Sandormen, the tractor train that drives across the beach.
From Hjørring you follow the coast north. Along the way are Rubjerg Knude Fyr, the lighthouse that was moved inland, and Hjørring itself as the last big place to stock up.
In summer Skagen is the strictest motorhome stop on this route. The car parks at Grenen are paid and overnight stays are not allowed there. Skagen itself has no waste disposal point; do that in Hjørring.
Pick an autocamperplads or campsite outside the centre and head to Grenen early. Sæby, forty minutes further south, is a quieter alternative in July and August.
In strong wind the sandy spit is unpleasant. Go to the Skagens Museum instead, where the light of Skagen that drew the painters here hangs on the walls, and save Grenen for the next morning.

What makes this different from a free blog
Written for motorhomes
Where you may park and where you may not, the low-emission zones of Aalborg, Aarhus, Odense and Copenhagen, waste and water points, and the Storebælt toll with the Autocamperaftale.
A Plan B for every day
On the North Sea coast the wind decides whether a day is any fun. That is why every single day has an alternative.
September 2026 edition
Ferry and bridge fares, low-emission zone rules and opening times are checked against the official Danish sources.

Routes and travel guide in one. A printed guidebook costs about £20, holds no motorhome information and is already out of date when it goes to print. This guide is the September 2026 edition, every day planned in detail — for €14.95. One wrong toll class at Storebælt or one missed ferry to Ærø costs you more.
With this guide, every update and every new edition is free for life — including the 2027 edition. A printed guidebook costs about £20, is out of date the moment it is printed, and next year you pay about £20 again for the new print run. You buy this guide once.
Launch offer for the 2026 edition — this may not apply to future editions.
